How regulatory procedures matter for governance

Governments have adopted a range of innovations, policy instruments and legal mechanisms to open up the processes through which new laws and regulations are made, delivered and evaluated.

The problems are that we do not know how these innovations work together, and that we know relatively little about the effects of these combinations of instruments and mechanisms on trust in government, corruption, the quality of the business environment and sustainability
