Claudio Radaelli and Gaia Taffoni are speakers on the Agenda Podcast session of the Luca Coscioni Association dedicated to the policy responses to the pandemic.

Hosted by former MP Marco Perduca, the conversation addresses the topic of Better Regulation. Gaia and Claudio answer questions on the adoption of effective rules that are able to function well even in times of crisis.

The Italian political response to the crisis has so far concentrated on distributive policies and on command and control regulations. Instead – Gaia and Claudio argue – the Italian recovery needs a new approach to regulation: future-proof rules should be geared towards innovation and growth and address the challenges posed by new technology. This is a cultural shift for Italy, stepped in the notion of regulation as prohibition and control.
